Don't Let Clutter Bury You! 11/1/07

Is your clutter affecting the quality of your life? If so, this information is for you!

What a cluttered life looks like

It's downright messy and it’s staring at you as you move about your home or office. In case you need a reminder of what this messy scenario is, let's take a look around.

The mail is piled up high in one corner.  The bills have been paid but this is the stuff that needs to go somewhere because you may need it again. The mail sits in a wicker basket until it is so high it’s falling out all over your desk and now you're unable to work at your desk until you clear this mess.

Your closet contains so many clothes you don’t wear. You keep them because you can’t stand the thought of letting them go. You know the clothes you’ve had for the past 5 years waiting until you fit into them again.

Your spare room is anything but spare as things have accumulated in this room for years. When you can’t think of where to put your junk, guess where it ends up.  You vow to clean it out one day so you can finally use it again.

How clutter can affect your life

Certain areas of life need to have some order or that unsettled feeling comes upon you and you just feel disorganized and “stuck.” You know that feeling when you just can’t seem to figure out what to do next. You become overwhelmed and everything stays disorganized. You’ve got the "clutter blues."

I have been there too

I’ll admit that this messy scenario is what I faced for years until I made a decesion to become more organized. I decided I had to have an organized office and I then moved on to my closet. It was daunting, but once I began the journey towards a clutter free house, life just got easier. I will be honest, I still have a few rooms that need attending to, but Rome wasn’t built in a day, so I’ll relax for now.

If this sounds anything like how you’ve been living there is help to motivate you. Please read more on my website on How To De-Clutter Your Living Space.
