Supporting women in holistic practices to grow their business with integrity

Hello, %profile_name_first!

June 15, 2009

Hello everyone-

It's truly almost summer-hurrah!

Michael and I just celebrated 29 years of being together with a gift to ourselves-getting away from it all at Nakusp Hot Springs in British Columbia.  We did a lot of hiking, soaking and relaxing...what that does for the soul is amazing, especially when you're in high gear much of the time.  If you're needing some "down time" I highly recommend this place.  It's very uncrowded and richly abundant with natural beauty.

Now it's back to work, yet I approach my business with a renewed sense of purpose and more relaxed.

This month's article is about taking action using simple tips and techniques and continues the theme of  improving your money relationship.  Enjoy!

Abundant Blessings,

Valerie

"There is a secret psychology to money.  Most people don't know about it.  That's why most people never become financially successful. A lack of money is not the problem; it is merely a symptom of what's going on inside you."

Tips and techniques to improve your money relationship

Here are some powerful, yet mostly simple techniques you can use right now to improve your relationship with money.  Some, such as the release work may require trained practitioners at first. If you do only a few of them consistently you will begin to see changes.  Pick what makes sense to you; if you are very visual for instance having a prosperity picture you look at often would be helpful for you.  Have fun with these tips/techniques

Take The One Week Challenge

What are your  subconscious thoughts about money?  Here is a way to find out. Do this exercise for one week-have a small notepad with you that you can carry in your car, purse, or pocket.  Write down all your thoughts,no matter how random about money (or lack of money).  At the end of the week you'll have a pretty good idea about your true (uncensored) thoughts. Please do not judge yourself-that is not helpful.  The point is to get clarity on how you actually feel about money by paying attention to your thoughts. Be compassionate with yourself for as you know more you can improve your money relationship

Ask This Question

What do I TRULY want to accomplish in this world? What is my most important gift to share with others? Write down how making a good income will make a difference in your life and the lives of others REMEMBER THAT $ IS JUST THE MEANS TO LIVE YOUR PURPOSE.  You may get in touch with a dream/passion you had when you were younger that you abandoned. Feeling good about money and what it will do for you and others can support you in improving your money relationship.

Create A Prosperity Picture

What makes you feel great when you look at it or think about it?  Whenever you "feel" financially challenged or begin to think limiting thoughts think of your picture-More powerful- have actual picture you put on an index card and carry around with you and look at it often or when needed for shifting your energy to thinking prosperous and unlimited-(I have three prosperity pictures and use each of them depending on what I'm guided to in that moment)

Re-frame Your Negative Self Talk

I learned this technique from Robert Tennyson Stevens-who is a teacher of conscious language.  Our language is very powerful and shapes our outcomes. WHEN YOU SAY THINGS LIKE , "I can't afford that ,I don't have enough $", etc....CATCH Yourself AND SAY, "cancel-clear" and re-frame in more positive terms; example,"I can afford that but chose to spend my money differently." "I have an abundance of all that I need."  Being aware of the language you use is an important beginning step in making crucial changes in your money consciousness.(see "take the one week challenge" above to track your self talk)

Do some type of release work

This helps to  move the negative/unproductive energy stored in your body -EFT(Emotional freedom technique),EMDR-(eye movement desensitization reprogramming-rapid eye movement), Cleansing Breathe, therapeutic massage or bodywork (there are many more that could also be used)  All these techniques can have a profound impact in supporting you to move though these "stored memories and release them ."

Surround yourself with positive, like minded people

You are the average of the 5 people you hang around the most.  Who do you spend the majority of time with? If you find that they are less than supportive you might need to make some changes.  (Join a MasterMind group, support group, or spiritual community/church committed to self growth and service)

Practice Gratitude

There is so much to be grateful for-many small things and the everyday things and people in your life.  Look for gratitude everywhere.  Keeping a gratitude journal can be helpful.  This is a surefire way to supercharge you with positive energy!
