UNWAIVERING FAITH & CONFIDENCE

  • If you are a solopreneur, knowing yourself well and having a healthy amount of confidence is essential in the business world (as well as in your personal life).   You represent your business and even if you have a team to help you are still responsible for your outcomes including successes and learning curves.  There are rough times when you may doubt your abilities and your confidence may wax & wane. This is especially true when you first are starting out or when you venture into new territory. There are so many small and monumental events that can occur in your business and personal life.  If you strive to have your business as a perfect reflection of your authentic self, what happens on those "off" days? Those days when you just want to wear a paper bag over your head or just retreat in your home? You don't like what you see in yourself or perhaps how you responded to a potential or current client or business associate.

  • These are the very times you need an unwaivering amount of faith if not confidence.  To listen to that still, small voice that reassures and trust that all will be well. The voice that says, "Things are getting better, you are doing your best right now; or perhaps asks you kindly, what is the lesson you're ready to learn now?"

  • I recently had an "off" week where I found myself being much harder on myself than anyone else could possibly be. (Maybe some of you can relate to this!). I felt "pushy" when talking about my upcoming workshop and was acutely aware that some people were not responding positively. I sensed this almost as soon as the words came out of my mouth. It wasn't the way I usually present myself, at least I hoped not.   I was re-assured when my husband, Michael, responded lovingly. "Let it go, you're not perfect, but you're good enough."  "Thank you", I replied as I realized I had forgotten my true essence.   Judith Orloff, in her book, Guide to Intuitive Healing, says this well, "Spiritual progress is beating yourself up a little less each day".

  • We may not always have unwavering confidence. Growing a business authentically will test us at times.  However, now I will not waiver for as long...I will have faith that "this too will pass"....that is progress and growth....We beat ourselves up a little less each day.  Our confidence is still intact even when we "forget" who we are and need gentle reminders. We need not be perfect, yet we are good enough. What a healing thought.   May you also remember this!
