INVINCIBLE MARKETING METHODS

(Most information contained in this article was compiled from the Ebook “Invincible Marketing” by Joe Vitale (www.mrfire.com)

Dr. Joe Vitale, marketing expert, entrepreneur and author of countless books on marketing subjects discusses a concept he calls “Invincible Marketing”  He breaks marketing down into segments, all of which he believes are critical for the entrepreneur to master for a thriving business.

In Persistent Marketing he discusses daily activities that you can do in marketing your business.  These can take an hour or two each day (or less) Examples of persistent marketing:

  • Phone calls to prospects

  • Writing articles for your newsletter

  • Drafting an advertisement

  • Networking

  • Brainstorming with others

  • Business meetings

Of course, you don’t need to do all of these things each day, just some of them; (or one of them) the point is to be persistent in your efforts to grow your business.

He also discusses, what he calls, Obvious Marketing.  Once you have established these vehicles for marketing your business you may need to update, revise occasionally but when you’re not updating/revising there is very little you need to do other than direct people to these resources.  Examples of obvious marketing:

  • Business cards (memorable information-have information on both sides   to optimize the benefits & don’t leave home without them)

  • Website (blog, articles, newsletter)  Have more than just a static website

  • Brochure

Publicity Marketing- (give the media a story) People love stories but the rub here is that the story needs to be a public interest story and not just about your business or a “sales pitch” Examples of publicity marketing:

  • Radio (public interest story or event that will help others in some way-not just about your business/product)

  • Newspaper

  • Press Releases

Prolific Marketing- Continuously creating new products that your target market needs.  The info marketing business is still booming with opportunities all the time, people love “how to” books.  Examples of prolific marketing products:

  • Audio books

  • Ebooks

  • Teleclasses/Teleseminars

  • DVDs

  • Book(s) written on some aspect of your business

Intentional Marketing-Declare an intension or outcome on what you want from your marketing efforts.  Know what you want with utmost clarity and write it down.  How to do this:

  • Write down your intensions

  •  Be clear and concise on what you’d like to accomplish

  • Check your results afterwards and “tweak” as needed for next event, situation

This has been very successful for me and has "shed light" on what I need to change.

I do this with each event I attend or facilitate whether it’s a group coaching program, networking event, fair, presentation, etc.  I quickly see where I met my goals and where I need to “tweak” my efforts more.  I often find that I meet or sometimes even exceed my expectations!  When this does not occur, even if I’m initially disappointed, I can approach it as a learning opportunity.  Have you noticed that there are plenty of these opportunities when you own your own business?

Guided Marketing-When you're out of your comfort zone and need support, find someone who is at least a few steps ahead of you and mentor with them.  You can also take classes or join MasterMind groups, etc.  Your learning curve will be faster so you won't work as hard or as long to reach your business goals. I worked with a mentor coach for a good portion of my first year in business and highly recommend this type of support.

Having your own business is a fantastic journey!  Whatever way you are currently marketing your business you may want to consider adding some of these additional methods.   ENJOY!
