Dr. Joe Vitale, marketing expert, entrepreneur and author of countless books on marketing subjects discusses a concept he calls “Invincible Marketing”He breaks marketing down into segments, all of which he believes are critical for the entrepreneur to master.
In Persistent Marketing he discusses daily activities that you can do in marketing your business. These can take an hour or two each day (or less) Examples of persistent marketing:
vPhone calls to prospects
vWriting articles for you newsletter
vDrafting an advertisement
vNetworking
vBrainstorming with others
vBusiness meetings
Of course, you don’t need to do all of these things each day, just some of them; (or one of them) the point is to be persistent in your efforts to grow your business.
He also discusses, what he calls, Obvious Marketing.Once you have established these vehicles for marketing your business you may need to update, revise occasionally but when you’re not updating/revising there is very little you need to do other than direct people to these resources.Examples of obvious marketing:
vBusiness cards (memorable information-have information on both sides & don’t leave home without them)
vWebsite (blog, articles, newsletter)Have more than just a static website
vBrochure
Publicity Marketing- (give the media a story) People love stories but the rub here is that the story needs to be a public interest story and not just about your business or a “sales pitch” Examples of publicity marketing:
vRadio (public interest story or event that will help others in some way-not just about your business/product)
vNewspaper
vPress Releases
Prolific Marketing- Continuously creating new products that your target market needs. The info marketing business is still booming with opportunities all the time, people love “how to” books.Examples of prolific marketing products:
vAudio books
veBooks
vTeleclasses/Teleseminars
vDVDs
vBook(s) written on some aspect of your business
Intentional Marketing-Declare an intension or outcome on what you want from your marketing efforts.Know what you want with utmost clarity and write it down. How to do this:
vWrite down your intensions
vBe clear and concise on what you’d like to accomplish
vCheck your results afterwards and “tweak” as needed for next event, situation
(I do this with each event I attend whether it’s a group coaching program, networking event, fair, presentation, etc.I then will see where I met my goals and where I need to “tweak” my efforts more) I often find that I meet or sometimes even exceed my expectations!
Guided Marketing-When you are our of your comfort zone and need support find someone’s who’s at least a few steps ahead of and mentor with them, take classes, etc. Your learning curve will be faster and you won’t be working as hard or as long to reach the success you desire.
Having your own business can be a fantastic journey! You will need to market, however and most likely, you are using some of these methods already in your business. You may want to consider adding additional methods you have not thought of before as well.
