"Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens." ~Carl Jung
Secret # 1-Begin With the End In Mind
The first secret for greater business success is to begin with the end in mind. Ask yourself what does your BIG picture look like? In order to know this you will have already created a vision and mission statement for your business/ career. Having a mission and vision for your business is like having the model for the "bigger picture." This is like a constitution by which you make all your future decisions for your business.
Re-visit Your Vision and Mission Statement annually
At least once a year I re-visit my vision and mission statement to see if it still aligns with my values and the person I have become. As we are evolving beings it is not a one size fits you forever formula. As co-creators with our source, (God) what we once desired we may have outgrown.
When I started by business in 2007 I was working out of my home and serving a smaller niche. Gratefully, I have seen my business and niche expand and my mission and vision statement now reflect this broader approach.
Secret #2-Know Yourself Well
This second secret may seem obvious, however I have been surprised over the years at the many people I've worked with really didn't know who they were or what they wanted. They were in a business, career or role that they had fallen into and felt stuck and frustrated. Thinking about what they really wanted proved difficult at first and then became liberating.
There is a saying that "some people live 90 years, others live one year 90 times." We all know people who may change their jobs, move or change their hair style yet remain virtually the same. They have the same excuses with the same results. They look outside and blame their results on what they see as outside circumstances. Until we decide and realize that life is happening through us-not to us, we are in a prison. When we really understand that everything is happening through our perception we can decide to change the channel. It can be as easy as flipping the switch and turning from CNN (continual negative news) to Discovery. It is not done easily without being and staying in a structure of support, however. There is always a pull back to the familiar programming.
As Socrates poignantly said, "The unexamined life if not worth living", yet it is never too late to be the person you were meant to be.
As we turn within we eventually get all the answers we seek
All the answers we seek are found within. We know this yet often do not quiet our mind. We can use our powerful mental capacity, intuition, only when we get quiet and listen We often ask for help in seeking our answers and then leave the phone off the hook. What I mean here is that we get so busy and the chatter gets so loud that the solution cannot come to us. By using a daily practice when we clear the clutter of our mind the receiver now can pick up the message meant for us.
As you learn more about what it is what you truly want, who you are and when creating your mission and vision statement you often will see a remarkable shift in your business. Success becomes a reality.
